Engagement Shoot - Beacon Fell Lancashire

Epic foggy and misty engagement shoot with Sally and Scott!

I'm thrilled to be Sally and Scott's wedding photographer, before their big day we headed to a very special place for the couple, Beacon Fells for their engagement shoot.  Read all about it below!!

I've known Sally for around 11 years as we worked together as Team Managers at RBS in Horwich. Throughout our working lives we'd catch up for lunch, support each other and generally have a good giggle to pass the working day.  Fast forward a few years and we both had made the decisions to take voluntary redundancy and pursue our real passions, Sally setting up her own beauty business, and for myself, launching Laura Duggleby Photography!!

Through the power of social media I had seen that Sally and Scott had got engaged, so when Sally contacted me to be their Lancashire wedding photographer I was over the moon!!!  The wedding is this month at the very beautiful Shireburn Arms, Hurst Green in the Ribble Valley.  I can't tell you how excited I am to photograph this stunning winter wedding, I just know it will be gorgeous!!

To help with posing and getting comfortable in front of the camera prior to the wedding day, I sometimes recommend adding a engagement shoot to your wedding package.  Sally and Scott chose Beacon Fells Country Park for their shoot.  The park is somewhere they often come  and walk their little dog, Skye, it is a really special place for them both.

On the morning of the shoot the weather was terrible, it had been raining all night and was quite windy. I arrived at Beacon Fells to a blanket of thick, heavy fog...I always like a shooting challenge so instead of cancelling, we headed up to the summit to see if the fog had lifted slightly.  At the summit the fog was still as dense and in a way mythical.  Sally and Scott were real super stars who just went with the flow, totally embracing the weather conditions, and sometimes the rather strange requests I asked to get 'the picture.'

I loved shooting this engagement, the love between the couple, the wintry weather conditions, the unbelievably epic fog, it just adds a extra dimension to the pictures and ultimately the memories!!  See for yourselves, I've added all my favourite photographs from Sally and Scott's engagement shoot below.

Enjoy, love Laura xx
