Holmes Mill Wedding - Lancashire Wedding Photographer
Holmes Mill Wedding Photography - Summer Wedding For Sherry & Simon!
Holmes Mill…..need I say anymore?
Well maybe just a little and to share this epic wedding with you all from June this year. Simon and Sherry’s wedding was my first time to Holmes Mill as a Lancashire wedding photographer.
I met up with Sherry and her bridesmaids at her mums house and she instantly wanted to show me her wedding dress, we went upstairs and I saw it for the first time, it was a truly stunning Allure Romance dress in blush pink and completely backless. Sherry has close family who live in America and she chose the dress whilst out visiting family and brought it back for her wedding day.
I do love bridal preparations and whilst I photographed all the details, flowers, shoes, perfume, jewellery, my second photographer Jane from Daisy Chain Photography, was with groom Simon and his groomsmen down at the local pub catching up with family and friends before the wedding ceremony.
Simon and Sherry were married in front of all their family and friends at St John The Divine Church in Cliviger before heading to Holmes Mill for their wedding reception. Holmes Mill is a rustic venue with a real industrial vibe to it, the wedding breakfast room is also used for wedding ceremonies, the space is vast and with lots of natural light and exposed brick and woodwork it makes for some super cool and quirky portrait backdrops. The Spinning Block which is the latest stage of the development to be opened, and is the hotel for Holmes Mill, has some gorgeous grey stone walls which made a lovely area for group formals, which were all completed before the heavens opened!!
On any wedding day couple portraits are a really important stage of the day (after the actual ceremony of course), but for me, its also all about the details and taking the time to photograph as much of those details for my couples as I can, so that they can look back at the photographs, and remember everything just as it was. Simon and Sherry had chosen wild flowers for their bouquets, buttonholes and also for the centrepieces all beautifully made and styled by Sam Williams Flowers. Simon is a massive Star Wars fan so the centrepieces also had little Star Wars Lego people which was a lovely little personal touch for the couple, and alongside a naked cake were cookies lovingly made from the couples families, which looked delicious!!
After the wedding breakfast, some very emotional speeches and a spot of the Mr and Mrs game, I whisked the newlyweds off for some natural portraits around Holmes Mill and then a short walk over to Clitheroe Castle Park to get some portraits as the sun was setting, before leaving the newlyweds to continue celebrating and partying through the night with their family and friends.
Love Laura xx
