Summer Wedding At Mitton Hall - Lancashire Wedding Photographer
Mitton Hall in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire is just an absolute gem of a wedding venue!! It really is a wedding photographers dream, there are open views of the countryside, lots of little quirky places for portraits, a light and airy reception room, and the great hall with its high beamed ceiling and open fire. Do you think I like Mitton Hall?? Well, you would be right, but I don't just like it, I love it and this is because its the very place I said ‘I do’ and held my wedding nearly ten years ago this December. It will always be a very special place to me and so I get really excited when I have the opportunity to shoot at this stunning Ribble Valley venue.
Enough about me…let me take you back to August last year, it was summer although on this particular wedding day the weather gods were not being kind and decided that it would rain for most of the day!! I was second shooting for Gemma from Gemma McAuley Photography for the wedding of John and Gianna, they were married in their local church, and then headed to their reception at Mitton Hall in the Ribble Valley.
A second shooter, is a professional wedding photographer, hired to provide additional coverage on the day and be an extra pair of hands, for capturing the ceremony, groom preparations and lots of extra wedding details!!
I met up with John and his groomsmen as they were getting ready at John’s parents house, the boys were in high spirits and although it was raining heavily, nothing was going to dampen the mood for this wedding!! After a few getting ready images it was time to head to the church for the ceremony. In-between the torrential downpours I captured the guests arriving and took some lovely natural moments. After the wedding ceremony and a quick confetti shot, the guests all headed to Mitton Hall where they were welcomed with traditional ice-cream cones before the wedding breakfast, and DFC kept everyone entertained throughout the day. The newlyweds rounded their perfect day off with a sparkler walk which was lovely and very entertaining!
