A Christmas Winter Wedding In The Ribble Valley

Stanley House Hotel in Blackburn is a gorgeous wedding venue, set on top of a hill its position gives stunning views of the surrounding Lancashire countryside, and with the manor house taking centre stage, it is no wonder so many couples decide to say ‘I do’ here!!

Roll back to a very foggy December morning and I was at Stanley House for the wedding of Joe and Catherine as a second shooter, for Jane from Daisy Chain Photography. Second shooters are professional wedding photographers hired by the main photographer to give additional coverage of groom preparations, the ceremony and generally be an extra pair of hands for snapping all the action on the day.

I joined Joe and his groomsmen to take a couple of quick portraits and informal group shots at Samlesbury Hotel before the wedding ceremony.

Joe and Catherine had styled their wedding in cream and gold tones with lots of flowers and candles, the wedding breakfast room looked really beautiful. They also chose to have a cheese cake instead of a traditional wedding cake, once all the formalities were done, we left the happy couple to dance the night away with all their family and friends.
