Stunning Autumnal Wedding For lauren and Ben

At Stirk House, Gisburn, Lancashire

Can you believe we are in a new year? January is generally the time when us photographers have a bit of downtime from editing and look to prioritise our websites, updating our blogs, adding new pictures to galleries for the new wedding season. So I thought it was a good idea to start sharing some more of the beautiful weddings I have shot last year to give you all some wedding inspiration, especially if you have just got engaged over the Christmas period, congratulations! I have so many gorgeous weddings to share, up first is this stunner from October, for Lauren and Ben.

WEDDINGS AT STIRK HOUSE

Lauren and Ben booked me last year and I was super excited when their booking came through, as it was a wedding at Stirk House. Stirk is such a great venue, the staff are all wonderful and of course the legendary Dave is the master of ceremonies! I can personally recommend how good Dave is, as he was also my own master of ceremonies at my own wedding back in 2009! Stirk House is steeped in history, the main manor house actually dates back to 1635, and the very first wedding was held in 1995! There has been many renovations to this venue, most notably the introduction of the drinks reception area.

AUTUMN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Autumn is such a beautiful season to get married in, all the tones of the leaves as they change make the backgrounds to portraits and groups beautiful. Unfortunately on Lauren and Ben’s wedding day, the weather was torrential rain, however we did manage to get outside, you can’t not have portraits outside Stirk House. With a handful of umbrella’s we went out and Lauren and Ben smashed their portraits! We were treated to a gorgeous sunset as well. I knew that Lauren had planned lots of autumnal touches for the ceremony room, but I was blown away when I saw the room. Such rich red, orange and yellow tones, truly gorgeous!
